Chalmette, LA. – St. Bernard Parish Government Officials broke ground on the Palmisano Playground at the corner of Palmisano Boulevard and Missouri Street in Chalmette.
The playground will include a play structure, independent spinner, poured-in-place rubber surfacing, a shade structure, benches, trash cans, bike racks and a fence. The cost of construction is $30,000 and will be funded with Murphy Oil Cy Pres Committee. The contractor, Hahn Enterprises, Inc., expects the project to be completed by January 1, 2019.
“We are happy to be able to install a new playground on this site which was previously used for a drainage construction project,” said Howard Luna, District C Councilman. “We are hoping the new park will allow children and families to enjoy casual recreation while adding an amenity that further beautifies the neighborhood.”
St. Bernard Parish Government apologizes for any inconveniences that may occur during construction. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Department of Public Works at 504-278-4300.
