Chalmette, LA — St. Bernard Parish Government (SBPG), in coordination with Councilman Gillis McCloskey, would like to announce the creation of the Neighborhood Services Office: Upon its inception, the Neighborhood Services Office will be the first of its kind associated with St. Bernard Parish Government. It will actively facilitate and support the revitalization and creation of Neighborhood Associations throughout St. Bernard Parish. Its primary objective will be to streamline communication between members and SBPG, provide relative data, grant assistance, notary services and IT resources.
Neighborhood Associations, which are often mistaken to be synonymous with homeowner’s associations, represent specific sections of a parish that share similar social traits and geographical proximity. They provide platforms for participants to interact and generate dialogue with the hopes of building communal initiative. In the past, these associations have played a vital role in organizing citizens throughout St. Bernard.
“This administrative function will be an important step towards the re-engagement, organizing and revitalization of our neighborhood communities. I’d like to thank President McInnis and the Administration for partnering with us to achieve this goal,” said Councilman McCloskey. If interested, please e-mail Larry Landry or call (504) 439-1444.
